Linen, cotton and wool — fabrics that outlast a single season. I look at three things: how the fabric behaves after fifty washes, what a square metre really weighs, and what the maker leaves out of the description. Linen softens with time and only gets better. Cotton breathes, but wears thin. Wool doesn't hold odour and manages moisture — but it doesn't like frequent washing. These aren't slogans; they're the differences that decide a purchase.
